How I Have Come to See the Law of Attraction

I was reflecting on a group I hosted one evening where we talked about the Law of Attraction.
What stood out to me was how differently everyone understood it—and how frustrating it had been for some people.
Because a lot of us have been taught that if things aren’t working in our lives, it must be because we’re doing something wrong.
I used to believe that too.
That if I just thought better, felt better, or “aligned” myself properly, everything would fall into place.
And when it didn’t… it felt like a personal failure.
But over time, that stopped feeling true.
What I’ve come to see is that it’s not as simple as “you get what you want” or “you create everything that happens.”
Life doesn’t work that cleanly.
But I do think there’s something real in noticing how we’re relating to our lives.
For example, I’ve had times where I was asking for something—more stability, more ease, more clarity—but underneath it all, I felt stressed and uncertain.
And even though I wanted something different, I was still living inside that tension.
Not because I was doing anything wrong… but because that’s where I was.
And I think that’s an important distinction.
It’s not about blaming yourself or trying to control everything.
It’s about becoming aware of what’s actually going on inside you—without judgment.
Because that internal state does shape how you experience things, how you respond, and what you’re available for.
For me, the shift has been less about trying to “attract” something different… and more about taking care of what’s already here.
Getting honest.Settling my own nervous system a bit.Not pushing so hard to make things happen.
And from there, things tend to move differently.
Not perfectly. Not instantly. But with a little less force… and a little more clarity.
I don’t think life is something you control into place.
But I do think there’s something powerful in how you react to it...and how you meet it.
